4 medium sized vazhakkai - cut into big/medium cubes
Take water and put the vazhaikkai in it and add a little salt and turmeric and cook it. make sure you dont mash it.
For grinding:
4 or 5 cloves of Garlic
1/2 big onion (big size)
2 tbsp sonmbu
put the above ingredients in a mixie and use pulse mode to grind coarsely, not a smooth paste.
Now in a pan add 2 tbsp oil and then add the grinded masala and cook it to take out the raw flavor. Then add 2 tsp sambar powder and a little turmeric and salt. once the masala is cooked well, then add the cooked vazhakkai and mix it thoroughly. keep the flame low and close the lid and leave it for 10 to 15 mins.
It is all ready to be eaten with hot rice.
